Why we love Luton.
New report will list all the things we like about the town
Luton residents are invited to list the things they most like about the town as part of the 2009 publicity programme.
Luton First, the town’s promotional consortium, would like to hear from dignitaries, business leaders, politicians, and prominent personalities, together with local residents and people who work in the town, explaining what they like most about their home town. The answers will form the basis of a report to be published in the second half of 2009.
“No doubt the town’s best known features and attractions will receive their rightful place on the list but, additionally, we should like to hear personal opinions on the qualities of the town which are not, perhaps, so immediately obvious,” says Luton First’s Patricia Murchie. “We plan to spotlight some of those magical intangibles which contribute to the heart and soul of any town.”
Luton First hopes to list at least one hundred things Lutonians like about their home town, to be presented to all sections of the media – with National and International press as a key target audience.
“Our intention is to spread the word about Luton and what it has to offer, attributing as many submissions as possible to named individuals,” says Patricia.
