Job - Finding God when it all goes wrong

This February, LCET are staging a major exhibition highlighting the needs of local young people through the story of Job. Renowned artist, Si Smith, has created twenty-two triptychs illustrating Job's story in a stunning visual form. Complementing these pictures is an audio accompaniment of words and music from the Lacey Theatre Company. The exhibition goes on to highlight local young people who've had to deal with their own tragedies. Their stories are a challenge for us to care for those in need, but also full of the hope that can be found in God.

The exhibition runs over three evenings in the first week of February: Tuesday 9th, Wednesday 10th and Thursday 11th, between 7pm and 10pm. Walking round the exhibition, you'll have an iPod to listen to the audio. It's free to come and see both both individuals and groups. During the week of the exhibition, two local restaurants - Nandos and Pizza Express - are running promotions offering discounts if you show a publicity postcard when ordering. You can download more information, including directions, from this page.

The Job material has been developed by dare2engage, a national project to encourage more Christian work with 16-19's in education. Sponsored by The Jerusalem Trust, the project has developed a wide range of resources for use in sixth forms and FE colleges, including breathe, an interactive exploration of the Christian faith and spirituality. The Job material is currently being developed by the dare2engage team into a fully fledged resource for 16-19's RE conferences which will include workshops and seminars to give opportunity to respond to, and explore further, the issues raised. Chris Curtis, LCET's Chief
Executive, is part of the dare2engage planning group.
