Our vision and story
Our vision is to build a church with people aged 18-30 who have little or no experience of church.
- to see people come to faith in Jesus - to release the potential of individuals - to see change and freedom in peoples’ lives - to love the town of Luton
Some perspectives on our vision:
- Church is built on the revelation of the supremacy of Christ; we therefore are Jesus centred and cross-oriented.
- Growth is natural and healthy. All living organisms grow and reproduce and church is no different.
- We have a high opinion of church, taking our cues from scripture and our own personal experience.
- In our church, everyone gets to play. Ours is not a community promoting one person or ministry, but a team effort.
- We believe that God changes us and brings freedom as we follow Jesus words and ways. This change is available to all.
- Our relationships are strong but we guard against becoming a closed community. We look to offer the love of God to all.
At this time, we outwork our vision in a number of ways. An outward sign of commitment to the values and vision of this community is found in meeting together.
We meet together: - weekly, in small groups known as cells - each weekend, in meetings of the whole church
Each small group has a cell leader. Their role is to oversee that cell and encourage the vision of reaching out to others with the message of Jesus.
Each weekend meeting is different to the last. These meetings are always open to anyone, and we go out of our way to make sure we don’t get in the way of people meeting Jesus.
In addition, committed members of the church give, serve and pray into and for the vision of this community. If you would like to find out more, then why not give our course Exploring your Connection a try?
