Unexpected

Life can get pretty busy and noisy. We’re constantly connected and sometimes struggle to filter out the noise of life. The purpose of ‘unexpected’ is to intentionally create some space to hear God speak.

We should be expectant that God can and will speak to us if we listen. What He might say and how He says it could be unexpected, it could change your life.

We use a variety of elements at the unexpected gatherings to help create some space. Each month we are introducing a tried and tested method of connecting with God. It might be silence, scriptures or journalling to name a few. The hope is that they will help us to notice, and to recognise when God speaks. They might even be things we can build into the rhythm of our lives.

Each month we will worship God together and leave plenty of space for Him to communicate with us. We want to develop a culture of listening, and pair that with a boldness to share what we have heard.

Each gathering is wrapped up with communion. This gives us a chance to pause and focus on what God has done for us. Unexpected is a safe place to just be, to rest with God, to be with others and to practice the art of hearing God speak. He has something to say.
