During our time in Luton we’ve been enriched by elements of the Jesuit tradition including regular weeks of guided prayer led by our good friend Stephen Hoyland.

We’ve been blessed by this and we would love to be too. Join us in Nov 2019.

The Retreat In Daily Life is a chance to journey and reflect with a prayer guide over the course of a week. Your guide will, in a prayerful atmosphere, help you reflect on your prayer and life and help you explore how you might become more open to the movements of the Spirit. In 2019 the retreat is running in Luton from November 3rd - 8th.

In practice you'll meet and talk with your prayer guide for half an hour each day Monday to Friday. They'll give you some prayer 'homework' each time for you to take away - often this will draw from the Ignatian tradition of prayer and spiritual exercises. You might want to use your week with your prayer guide to reflect on some kind of decision or just to explore your relationship with God. Through this retreat experience our hope is that you are better able to notice, savour and respond to the movement of God in your life after the retreat.

The week is led by Stephen Hoyland (who works for the Jesuits) and coordinated by City Life Church Luton. All the prayer guides have received training in Spiritual Accompaniment and, with the exception of usual safeguarding practice will hold anything shared in confidence.
